Our programme for the 2021/22 season

December 29th - Night out at Penarth Pier. Meet at 7pm TBC.

December 31st - New Year's Eve - No day out.

The Programme for 2022 is currently being updated for the New Year.

January 5th - NO MEETING


January 7th - A day out commencing with Sunrise at Bracelet Bay.  Meet before sunrise, or for the non early birds meet at 10.am.

 

January 9th - Bikers shoot. Location Bridgend more info is being sent to members. Meet at 9.am.

January 12th - A Projects Evening with three members giving talks. Neville Thomas, Martin Smith and Gareth Martin.

January 14th - A day out at Llangasty Church and nearby farm buildings. Meet at 10.30. For the early risers in the club, meet at Llangorse lake 45 mins before sunrise. Lunch at the White Hart, Talybont.

January 19th - Miles and Miles of Fresh Air with Nick Jenkins, Gwynfa.

January 21st - A day out with a  photo tour of Llanelly House with an optional lunch. Cost is £6.50 each without lunch. We went here in 2019 it was a great Morning. Meet at 10.am - time to be confirmed. members who want lunch to advise Gareth Martin.

 

January 23rd - WPF Memorial Trophies consisting of three separate competitions being judged on one day. Colour prints and mono prints plus PDI. Competition start time TBC. Judge TBC

January 26th - Competition No 4 with Judge Gary Shinner, Baglan PS.

January 28th - A day out with a walk along the path at Goldcliffe Bay. We will walk in the direction of the Severn Bridge. Meet at 10.am.

February 2nd - An Evening with Permajet. Hand-in for Competition 5.

February 4th -  A day out at St. Teilo's forgotten grave yard near Pontarddulais. Leader is Wayne John. Park at Coed Bach Wood. Meet at 9am.

February 6th - Bikers shoot. Location and time TBC.

Febuary 8th - Committee Meeting 7pm.

February 9th - Derelict Carmarthenshire and Drone Photography with Graham Harries of Llanelli CC.

February 11th - A day out with a street shoot in Pontypridd. Requested by Suzanne Slee. Meet at 10am.

February 16th - Portraiture Shoot. Alan Stokes to provide the models and run the evening.

February 18th  - Day Out in Barry. Requested by Gerald Henry. Meet at 10am.

February 23rd - Competition No 5 with Judge Dai Knight of Baglan Bay PS.

Febuary 25th - Day out at a walk to the Sugar Loaf including waterfalls. Park in Llanbeder. Meet at 9.am. Leader Gareth M.

March 2nd - An Evening with Tony Woribiec FRPS from Wareham Dorset. This may be via Zoom or in person. Tony has been with us on Zoom in 2020.

March 4th - Day out with Nigel Thomas who will lead us on a 6 mile flat walk to the shipwrecks of Pembrey. Meet at 9.am this time and date may change depending on tides.

 

March 9th - A macro evening with Tony Llewellyn DPAGB. Hand-in for Competition 6.

 

March 11th - Day out at Parc Slip nature reserve with a walk to Bedford Park. Nige Brown is our leader. Meet at 10.am.

 

March 16th - At home with the Prenton Jones's - Sharon Prenton Jones MFIAP, MPAGB, FIPF, ARPS, ABPE, EFIAP/p and  Robert Jones EFIAPp, BPE5, AWPF, LRPS Conwy CC. Via Zoom.

 

March 18th - Day out at Margam Park - a tour with Dave Phillips. Waiting for confirmation due to COVID and health and safety.

 

March 23rd - Here There and Everywhere - Jenny and Tony Byram, Kingswood PS.

March 25th - Day out Stable shoot at Giants graveyard meet at 10.am. Refreshments at St Paul's Toucan Cafe at 1pm. This shoot is now full. If you want lunch book it with Gareth.


March 30th - Competition No 6 Judge Ed Cloutman, Vale PS

April 1st - Day out at Gloucester meet at 10.am more info to come out. Requested by Suzanne Lacorte Slee.

April 6th - Look what I found - Muriel Binnie, Edinburgh PS. Muriel makes her second visit to the club via zoom. Hand in Competition No 7.

April 8th - Day out shooting the landscape above Pontardawe. We will be parking at an isolated chapel.
Parking maybe tight room for 8 cars and possibly a few on the road. Wear warm clothes and walking gear. There's the landscape to roam including a chapel and remains of a hospital. Meet at 10.am or for the early riser before sunset.


April 13th - Holy Week. The church Hall is closed, so it's a zoom night from home. The Magic Of Long Exposure with Harry behind the lens from Suffolk. We will be zooming from home. Nigel Brown's request.

April 15th - Day out Good Friday Members choice.

April 20th - Still Life/ Table Top Demo with Martin Smith, members bring cameras.

April 22nd - Day out The second stable shoot at Giants Grave yard meet at 10.am,  There's a few places left to book as only ten allowed.

April 27th - Competition No 7 - Judge Gary Langley. Zoom. Hand-in for our other new competition to award Print and PDI Image Of The Year. Club Members will be invited to enter what they consider to be their two best images.

These images must be chosen from images that were entered into this season’s club competitions 1 through to 7 (dates as above). There will be one winner in the print section and one in the pdi section.

It will be held on 18th May 2022 with judge Kylie Ann Martin.

 

April 29th - Day out at Porthkerry Country Park, Gerald Henry request. Meet at 10.am. Cafe on site. Plenty of walks and a sea shore to see.

May 4th - Why put pictures on Canvas, Harry Gardiner, Tenby CC? Moved from April 2020.

May 6th - Day out with a walk to the Chartists Cave - Tom Dee is our leader. Meeting time and directions will be sent out.

May 11th - My Digital View - Peter Weaver Hanham CC.

May 13th - Day out. Jennie Judd Gwynfa CC takes us on a tour of Parc Penallta where there's wildlife and ponds to see. Meet at 10.am Cafe on site.

May 18th  - Print and PDI of the year. Members are invited to enter their two favourite pdi and prints from the 21/22 Season. Judge Kylie Ann Martin, Great Barr PS.

May 20th - Day out at St Mary's Church Briton Ferry meet at 10.am.This is £3 each. Refreshments at Francos.

May 25th - AGM. No subs taken.

 

May 27th - Day out at Bute Park in the Rhymney Valley. This is a short walk with history and plenty to see and photograph. More info will be posted.

June 1st - Evening out at Nash Point. Meet at 7pm.

June 2nd to 5th - The Appleby Horse Fair. Several members maybe off to this event.

June 3rd - A day out with a street shoot at Hay On Wye book festival. Meet at 10.am.

June 8th - Night out with a walk around Caerphilly Castle hopefully will have a sunset. Meet at 7pm.

June 10th - A visit to Colby Gardens near Amroth in West Wales. Martin Smith's idea and organiser.

June 11th - The Barrian Cup at Barry CC. Judge TBA. 2pm start.

June 15th - Night out at Roath Park for the sunset. Tracey Howells request.

June 17th - Day out at Pembridge in Herefordshire.Pembridge is known as the Jewel in the Crown of the Black and White Village Trail due to its lovely half-timbered cottages which put the main street in a charming time warp. This is requested by Heather Roper. Meet at 10.am.

June 22nd  - Night out at Tenby this was on the programme for summer 2020. Meet at 7pm some members will be making a day of it.

June 24th - A day out at the Gower Heritage Centre. Meet at 10am.

June 29th - An evening out at Port Eynon. Meet at 7pm.

July 1st - A day out at The Iron Works and a street shoot in Ystradgynlais. Meet at 10am.

July 2nd - Ystradgynlais Buskers Festival. Waiting on confirmation of date.

July 6th - An evening out at Blaengarw. Pondlife, woodland and street photography.  Meet at the Calon Carpark for 7pm.

July 8th - A day out at the Gwenffrwdd Dinas Nature Reserve. Suggested by Gareth with the walk through the reserve to be led by  Martin Smith. Pub stop at the Towy Bridge. If there is time we could take in the Llyn Brianne Reservoir. Please note that sections of the walk are over very uneven ground including possibly wet rocky surfaces, so strong footwear is essential. Meet at 10.am 

July 13th - An evening out at Coed Bach Wood, Pontarddulais. Meet at 7pm. St Teilo's Grave Yard and twisted trees. Wayne John is our leader.

July 15th - A day out at The South Wales Aviation Musuem. If you want to go let me know as it's booking in advance. Just room for six more.

July 20th - An evening out at Llangynydd Church and grave yard. Refreshments at a local pub. Meet at 7pm.

July 22nd - Day out at Purton meet at 10am or earlier. Refreshments at a local pub.

July 27th - Evening out at Penwyllt meet at 7pm. Some members may meet earlier.

July 29th - Day out at Picton Gardens near Haverfordwest - suggested by Martin Smith.

August 3rd - An evening out at Caswell Bay. Meet at 7pm.
