February 2026
February 2nd - Committee Meeting.
February 4th - An evening with Garry Baker. Hand in for Competition No 6.
February 6th - Nature Group Day out at Llanelli Wetlands Centre - meet at the visitor centre for 10.am.
February 11th - Finland Wildlife Over Four Seasons - Our sincere thanks to club member Jenny Hibbert, MPAGB, EFIAP/g AWPF, Afan Nedd and Bridgend, for filling in at very short notice.
February 13th - A day out at Llangorse Lake, the church and then Llangasty Church followed by lunch in Talybont-On -Usk. Meet before sunrise.
February 18th - A model shoot with Martyn Pinches. Members bring your camera gear, and a model will be provided.
February 20th -A day out with a street shoot in Cardiff. Meeting time will be sent to members at a later date.
February 21st - The WPF Memorial Competition held in Monmouth.
February 25th - Competition No 6 with Judge Mike Clatworthy.
February 27th - A day out at Boulston ruined church - meet at St. Ishmael's Church in Uzmaston at 09.45. Postcode will be sent out nearer the date. Keith Brownhill is our leader.
March 2026
March 4th - Sports Photography By Someone Who Hates Sport with Kev Robertson, AWPF, EFIAP, PPSA, BPE*3. Hand in for Competition No 7.
March 6th - Morning out at Cefn Cribwr signal box and Bedford Park Iron works. We are having a tour of both places with the key holders. Meet at 10.am.March 8th - The WPF AGM will be held at the Talbot Green Community Centre at 2.30pm.
March 11th - A members Audio Visual evening. Six members taking part are Sam Cheng, Nadine Linton, Jenny Hibbert, Dennis Russ, Paul Branchflower and Dave Williams.
March 13th - A day out at Parrog, Newport, Pembs - [Details]. Gareth Martin will take you to a mystery location after Parrog.
March 14th-17th - The Photography and Video show in the NEC Birmingham - [Details].
March 18th - A surprise talk with Gary Shinner of Baglan Bay PS.
March 20th - A day out at Penwyllt. Meet at 09.30 or before sunrise for the early risers.
March 21st - 22nd - The Tenby Steampunk Festival.
March 25th - Competition No 7 with Judge Ken Jacob, AWPF, ARPS and Abergavenny CC.
March 27th - A day out to Fotest Farm with Nature Group leader Bob Barker. Meeting times will come out nearer the date.
April 2026
April 1st - A Still life lighting demo with Graham Anderson who is a professional product photographer based in Port Talbot. Members bring your camera gear and items to photograph. Hand-In for Competition No 8.
April 3rd - Good Friday.
April 8th - Every step of the way with Heidi Stewart from Gwynfa CC.
April 10th - A day out at Margam Castle for a tour with The Friends of Margam Park.
April 15th - Mostly Motor Racing with Leigh Woolford, AWPF AFIAP DPAGB BPE5* Hon FWPF, Gwynfa CC.
April 22nd - 71% North & Beyond which is about my Arctic trip - with Jenny Hibbert MPAGB EFIAP/g AWPF, Afan Nedd and Bridgend. Hand in for the Annual Challenge Themed Competition No 9 - The theme is Footwear.
April 29th - Competition No 8 Judge David Straker of Abergavenny CC.
May 2026
May 1st - A day out at Ilston, taking in the church, the graveyard full of wild flowers and the woods full of wild garlic and bluebells. Meet at 10.am. This our first Friday visit to this location.
May 2nd - Welsh Salon opening. Presentation of awards. 12 noon. At Cynon Isaf Museum Aberdare.
May 6th - Members Show and Tell. Members show Prints and or Digital images.
May 8th - A day out at Clydach Canal to be led by Wayne John - meet at 10.am. This will be the club's first visit to this location.
May 13th - Wales Palaces of Culture - Hywel Harris FRPS MA. This may move to another date.
May 15th - A day out at Crumlin Navigation Mine. Meet at 10.am.
May 20th - The Annual Challenge Themed Competition No 9 - The theme is Footwear. Our judge will be Mike Martin, ADPS,FDPS {X2} EFIAP, AWPF, BPE1* and Bristol PS.
May 21st - 31st - The Hay Festival - [Details].
May 22nd - Show and Tell at Morriston CC, 7pm start. Five members taking part, They are Gareth Martin, Glyn Freeman, Wayne John, Allan Pick and Rob Evans.
May 26th - AGM. No subs taken.
June 2026
June 7th - The Barrian Cup to be held at Barry CC, St. Francis’ Millennium Centre,Park Road, Barry, CF62 6NX. 2pm start. Judge TBC.
June 19th - A day out at the Wales and West Photography Show - [Details].
July 2026
July 3rd - A day out at Strata Florida where we will be given a tour/talk about the archaeological dig that is going on there. Meet 10.am for 10.30. There's a small museum and Abbey to see as well as the monastic dig - [Details].
July 11th - 12th - The Tewkesbury Medieval Festival - [Details].
July 22nd - Glamorgan Vs Sussex Sharks, Neath Cricket Ground.
July 24th - A day out at Neath Cricket ground. Glamorgan Vs Yorkshire. A sport where you can get good action images and or crowd shots. Meet on the ground at 10.50ish.
August 2026
August 7th/8th/9th - Day out at Brecon Jazz Festival.
September 2026
September 2nd - Print and PDI Of The Year with judge Simon Caplan, LRPS, Bristol PS . Also the presentation of the league trophies. Hand-In for Competition 1.
September 6th - 9th - Day out at The Swansea Jazz Festival - [Details].
September 9th - Show And Tell.
September 12th/13th - A day out at Hot Rod Races at Pendine sands - [Details].
September 16th - An evening with Dave Williams who will be showing photos of his trip to Botswana. This has been on Dave's bucket list all his life.
September 23rd - A Still Life Evening with Wendy Jones of Cwmtawe and Morriston CC.
September 26th - The WPF Convention is being held at our hall. Speakers to be announced in due course. 9.30 start.
September 30th - Competition No 1 with judge Dave Bennett of Cwmbran CC.
October 2026
October 7th - Rob's Roving Retirement Part 2 with Rob Evans. Following Rob’s last talk at the club, he has visited the Dolomites, Venice, Glencoe, the Canadian Rockies as well as the Kruger National Park again. The talk will include a mixture of wildlife, landscape and street photography. Hand-In for Competition 2.
October 14th - So You Want To Be A Nature Photographer? - Macro, birds & mammals. Hints and tips on how to achieve quality images. Hand in for The Simon Jones Monochrome Memorial Trophy - 2 prints and or 2 pdi.
October 16th - Nature Group day out at Forest Farm. Meet at 09.30. Some members may arrive earlier.
October 21st - Noir Portraiture demonstration with Graham Davies a professional photographer who hails from Port Talbot. Members to bring their cameras. In the first half, Graham will show his prints. Inthe second half a few members can take photos. Models will be club members.
October 28th - Competition No 2 with judge, Jane Kerr of Builth Wells CC.
November 2026
November 4th - Empty Rooms with Ceri Vale from Caerphilly. Ceri is giving his first ever talk. Hand in for Competition No 4.
